Derry City hit by list of injuries
Derry City welcome struggling Galway United to the Brandywell Stadium for tonight’s eircom League of Ireland Premier Division clash, kick-off 7.45pm.
City must plan tonight without a host of players who are ruled out through injury.
Sammy Morrow (cruciate), Sean Hargan (knee), Darren Quigley (wrist), Paddy McCourt (back) and Eugene Ferry (metatarsal) all miss out.
Kevin Deery and Mark McChrystal will also sit out of tonight’s game as they return from injury but both are likely to feature in Monday’s League Cup fixture against Finn Harps.
There is some good news for Candystripes boss Stephen Kenny as Clive Delaney returns from suspension and should go straight back into the starting eleven.
For Galway, Ciaran Foley, Alan Keane and Daryl Roson all remain sidelined with injury. And John Lester has also been added to the list and won't feature.
Manager Jeff Kenna will be looking for an improvement in defence when the Tribesmen take to the field on Friday.
He said: "Obviously, it's going to be a difficult game in the Brandywell, however, my players are ready to get stuck in.
"We need to get points on the board so we will be going into this game looking for a result. It would be brilliant to keep a clean sheet as we need to stop leaking goals."
