Shamrock Rovers will be looking to get their league campaign back on track when they take on St Patrick’s Athletic in Sunday's televised clash at Tolka Park (kick-off 7pm).

For Rovers, Chris Mulhall remains out with a cartilage injury, while Darren Stapleton has a slight thigh strain and is a doubt.

Pat Flynn is back from suspension his five-match suspension, while Barry Murphy is unlikely to play.

Hoops boss Pat Scully said: "Chris should be back running next week, while Darren is likely to be OK for Sunday. Barry Murphy is doubtful as he is recovering from a groin operation.

"On the positive side, Pat Flynn has completed his suspension, while Aidan Price and Padraig Amond played in the A game during the week against Drogheda and are in my thoughts."

Pat's could go four points clear at the top of the table with victory.

Boss Johnny McDonnell must travel to Tolka without Jamie Harris and Joseph Ndo.

Several players are carrying knocks including keeper Brendan Clarke, which may result in goalkeeping coach Robbie Horgan, once again, being used as reserve keeper.

McDonnell said: “It’s a big game for both clubs. Rovers have had a few difficult results, but with a Dublin derby like this form goes out the window.”

Rovers are handing out 1,000 free scarves on a first come first served basis to their supporters at Sunday's game.
