Second-half goals from John O'Flynn and Dave Mooney eased Cork to victory at Turner's Cross, though Drogheda's 4-0 win at Dungannon saw them knocked off the top of Setanta Sports Cup Group 1 on goal difference.

Such was their dominance from the start, how Cork weren't several goals to the good at the break is a mystery.

Mooney brought a terrific save from John Connolly with a volley inside the opening minute before being guilty of a bad miss ten minutes before the break when heading wide from Neal Horgan's cross.

But O'Flynn finally broke the deadlock on 73 minuets when rifling home the rebound after Connolly could only parry a shot from Neal Horgan.

Mooney then sealed the win three minutes later when firing home O'Callaghan's cross from close range.
