Portsmouth will make late decisions on the fitness of defender Hermann Hreidarsson (achilles) and winger John Utaka (hamstring) for the FA Cup semi final against West Bromwich Albion but neither had trained up to Thursday.

Hreidarsson is determined to make it but Lauren, normally a right back, is standing by to deputise on the left while on-loan striker Milan Baros is the likely replacement for Utaka in a 4-5-1 set-up.

With eight-goal Jermain Defoe cuptied, Kanu is set to lead the attack and midfielders Sulley Muntari and Papa Bouba Diop return from suspensions to replace Sean Davis and Pedro Mendes.

Goalkeeper David James has recovered from a stomach bug and midfielder Lassana Diarra from a hamstring strain.

Team (from): James; Johnson, Campbell, Distin, Hreidarsson, Lauren, Diarra, Diop, Muntari, Kranjcar, Baros, Kanu, Nugent, Davis, Mendes, Hughes, Aubey, Mvuemba, Ashdown (gk).
