Give Owen a new deal: Keegan

Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan has urged the club’s owners to tie striker Michael Owen to a new contract to prevent him being tempted away by a better offer.

Owen’s current deal expires at the end of next season but Keegan believes it is essential to the Magpies’ future to secure the England international’s services in the longer term.
