Boro hold shock half-time lead over Gunners

Former Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere returned to haunt his old club as Middlesbrough took a shock half-time lead at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners – who were knocked off the top of the Premier League by Manchester United earlier this afternoon – had an early goal from Emmanuel Adebayor incorrectly ruled out for offside.

After 25 minutes, Aliadiere was on hand to sweep home a cross from Tuncay following a long free-kick which caught out the home defence.
