Bolton flew out to Lisbon today for the second leg of their UEFA Cup last-16 tie against Sporting without 12 first-team players.

Jussi Jaaskelainen and captain Kevin Nolan both missed last week’s 1-1 first-leg draw with back injuries, and so did not travel.

They were joined by Kevin Davies, Matt Taylor, Andy O’Brien, Ivan Campo, El Hadji Diouf and Ricardo Gardner, as manager Gary Megson’s priority is Sunday’s Barclays Premier League clash at Wigan.

Also unavailable are Gavin McCann through suspension, while Tamir Cohen, Grzegorz Rasiak and Gretar Steinsson are ineligible.

Team (from): Al Habsi, Hunt, Samuel, Meite, Giannakopoulos, Helguson, Teymourian, Vaz Te, J O’Brien, Braaten, Harsanyi, Cahill, Sinclair, Guthrie, Cassidy, Sissons, Woolfe, Walker.
