Defensive worries for Celtic

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has a dilemma over the right-back position for the first leg of the Hoops’ Champions League last-16 clash with Barcelona at Parkhead tomorrow.

New signing Andreas Hinkel is cup-tied while long-term injured full-backs Jean-Joel Perrier Doumbe and Mark Wilson are still out.

Teenager Paul Caddis could therefore make his Champions League debut although midfielder Paul Hartley or centre-back Gary Caldwell could fill in.

Midfielder Scott Brown is suspended so Barry Robson could make his European debut for Celtic after signing from Dundee United in the January transfer window.

Provisional squad: Boruc, Caldwell, McManus, Naylor, Nakamura, Donati, Robson, McGeady, McDonald, Hutchinson, Vennegoor of Hesselink, Samaras, Mark Brown, O’Dea, Sno, Hartley, Caddis, Riordan.
