Ronaldo ruptures knee ligaments
AC Milan striker Ronaldo is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after rupturing tendons in his left knee during the Serie A 1-1 draw with Livorno.
The 31-year-old was carried off just three minutes after coming on as a substitute at the San Siro.
“We are all very upset and worried about what happened to Ronaldo. For our part we can only be there for him and stay calm,” coach Carlo Ancelotti told the club’s website, acmilan.com.
“I don’t think I can say that his career is over because only time can tell when his career will end.”
Andrea Pirlo’s penalty salvaged a point for the hosts after Nico Pulzetti had given Livorno a surprise lead early in the second half.
