Everton boss David Moyes has recalled Ayegbeni Yakubu to his squad for the UEFA Cup tie away to Brann after his fine and banishment from the side that beat Reading on Saturday.

Everton boss David Moyes has recalled Ayegbeni Yakubu to his squad for the UEFA Cup tie away to Brann after his fine and banishment from the side that beat Reading on Saturday.

The Nigerian striker has apologised for his late return from the African Nations Cup and was re-instated to the party that flew to Norway today.

However, midfielder Mikel Arteta is out with a groin strain, Thomas Gravesen has a knee problem and Steven Pienaar is also out with the ankle injury he picked up playing for South African in the African tournament.

Striker Victor Anichebe is back after an ankle knock, while Moyes has added youngsters Dan Gosling and Jack Rodwell to the squad.

Everton provisional squad: Howard, Hibbert, Neville, Jagielka, Lescott, Yobo, Valente, Van der Meyde, Vaughan, Cahill, Carsley, Osman, Yakubu, Fernandes, Anichebe, Johnson, Gosling, Wessels, Rodwell.
