Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate will take a late decision over whether to hand record signing Afonso Alves a debut against Fulham tomorrow.

The 27-year-old Brazilian was unveiled to the sound of samba drums and the cheers of delighted fans on Thursday as he arrived on Teesside following the completion of his complicated £12.7m switch from Dutch club Heerenveen.
