The schedule for Ireland's World Cup 2010 qualifying campaign has been announced by the FAI today.

The campaign will kick off in eastern Europe this September with visits to Georgia and Montenegro, following by three games against Cyprus, Georgia and Bulgaria at Croke Park .

Elsewhere, Ireland are away to Italy on April 1 next year.

Meanwhile, there is speculation that former Northern Ireland and Fulham manager Lawrie Sanchez is to be interviewed for the vacant manager job with the Irish set-up.
