Carsley captains Everton for AZ clash
Everton manager David Moyes rang the changes for tonight’s UEFA Cup match, with his side assured of qualification and a fixture against Manchester United to come on Sunday.
Only four players remained from the team that started in the victory at West Ham last weekend – Lee Carsley, Phil Jagielka, Joleon Lescott and Steven Pienaar.
Republic of Ireland midfielder Carsley was captain, while 16-year-old defender Jack Rodwell was on the bench.
Everton were looking to preserve their 100% record after three successive victories in the group.
