The nominations for the 18th eircom/FAI International Awards have been announced.

Kevin Doyle, Richard Dunne and Shay Given get the senior nominations this year, while Stephen Ireland is a surprise inclusion in the nominees for Young Player of the Year.

From the Under 21s, McGeady's Celtic teammate Darren O'Dea dukes it out with Aston Villa's Stephen O'Halloran and Sheffield United's Stephen Quinn

From the eircom League, Longford's Dave Mooney, Drogheda's Brian Shelly and Brian Murphy of Bohemians are in contention

While the Women's International nominations go to Arsenal's Emma Byrne, Niamh Fahey of Salthill Devon and Sarah Peters, who plays for US side Seattle Sounders

Finally, in the running for the Goal of the Year award are Kevin Doyle, for his long-range strike away to Slovakia, Robbie Keane, away to Wales, and Stephen Ireland again, for scoring the first ever soccer goal in Croke Park - also against Wales

The awards recognise the contributions of players from the senior, Under-21 and women’s international squads, as well as players from the eircom League.
