Spurs play it safe with King

Ledley King is nearing a return to first-team action for Tottenham but is not likely to be ready for tomorrow’s Barclays Premier League trip to Portsmouth.

Anthony Gardner (ankle), Ricardo Rocha (ankle), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) and Gareth Bale (foot) are all long-term injury absentees.
