Duo set for City return

Michael Johnson and Darius Vassell will both return to the Manchester City squad for Sunday’s trip to Tottenham.

Johnson had abdominal surgery in October, while Vassell has been troubled by a hamstring injury but both have been declared fit for their trip to White Hart Lane, when City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson will be without suspended midfielder Dietmar Hamann.

Brazilian playmaker Elano faces a late test on his hamstring injury, with Eriksson warning he will take no risks with the former Shakhtar Donetsk player even though his side are without an away win since the opening game of the season at West Ham.
