A last minute penalty from Alan Cawley earned Bray a point at United Park.

Bray began well and midfielder Cawley struck a post from a free-kick on nine minutes with Stephen Fox then firing wide from a Patrick Kavanagh cross.

But Drogheda, eager to impress their fan as they received the new champions trophy, struck to take the lead on 38 minutes.

Shane Robinson did well down the right to set -up Eamon Zayed and the former Bray star shot past Steve Williams.

Kavanagh came within inches of equalising on 58 minutes, but his shot came back off the bar after good work by Jay O'Shea.

But just when time appeared up, a Fox shot was handled inside the area and Cawley kept his head well to shoot home the spot kick.
