Barca waiting on Henry
Barcelona are facing a nervous wait before learning whether Thierry Henry will be fit to face Rangers in the Champions League.
The former Arsenal striker misses tonight’s Primera Liga match against Real Valladolid after tests revealed an inflammation of tissue around his left Achilles tendon.
Henry is also a doubt for Sunday’s league clash with Real Betis.
If he is ruled out of next Wednesday’s clash with Rangers, the news would be a major boost to Walter Smith’s side’s hopes of causing an upset at the Nou Camp.
Henry will be closely observed by Barcelona’s medical staff in the coming days.
Reports in Spain have suggested Barca are confident that Henry, 30, will be available for the Rangers clash.
In the meantime, coach Frank Rijkaard said: “We will miss him.”
Henry has been feeling the effects of the Achilles problem since scoring in Sunday’s league win against Almeria.
“We have preferred for him to have treatment,” Rijkaard added.
