St Pat's take major step towards UEFA Cup
Cork City 0 St Patrick's Athletic 1
Gary O'Neill scored for the third match running to give St Pat's a vital win at Turner's Cross and leave them needing three points from their remaining two games to secure second place and a spot in both the UEFA and Setanta Cups for next season.
St Pat's took the lead, for what proved the only goal of the night, against the run of play on 20 minutes.
Mark Quigley's shot from a tight angle flew across the goal and was chested into the net by O'Neill.
Cork might have levelled three minutes later, but Saints' keeper Brendan Clarke did well to save at the feet of Colin Healy who looked set to take the ball round him from John O'Flynn's cross.
