McShane has faith in Irish squad

Sunderland defender Paul McShane has spoken out about the Irish squad and the steady progress he thinks they are making despite having failed to book a place in next summer's Euro 2008 finals.

Following a challenge on Milan Baros against the Czech Republic last month, McShane was ruled out of the qualifier against Germany last weekend which ended in a goalless draw.
