Terry set to make surprise recovery for Moscow clash

John Terry is on course to figure in England's crucial Euro 2008 qualifying clash with Russia in Moscow.

The England and Chelsea captain had been a major doubt after picking up a knee injury in training last week which forced him to sit out Saturday's 3-0 win over Estonia.

However, Terry was able to train in Altrincham this morning as Steve McClaren's side tried out the controversial 'field-turf' which will be used on Wednesday in the Luzhniki Stadium, at the Thomas Holford Catholic College.

England's medical staff gave Terry the green light to fly out of Manchester with his team-mates.

A spokesman explained: "John trained today and came through the session with no problems.

"He will continue to be monitored by the England medical staff and assessed for any reaction."
