Students hold Derry to a draw

UCD maintained their superb record at the Brandywell as they frustrated Derry up there for the third time this season.

Derry, fresh from their League Cup success midweek, started confidently and Paddy McCourt might have put them ahead on nine minutes but shot over the bar from an acute angle after Kevin McHugh put him in on goal.

But the game never really got going and the second half was poor.

McHugh shot off target for Derry while UCD defender Alan Mahon had a long-range shot well saved by Patrick Jennings.
