Barton begins comeback

Newcastle’s summer signing Joey Barton began his comeback from injury by playing 45 minutes for the club’s reserves.

The £5.8m capture from Manchester City played the first half as the Magpies’ second string fought out a 2-2 draw at his former club last night.
