UCD book their place in semis of FAI Ford Cup

Conan Byrne proved Derry City's destroyer as UCD stunned the Candystripes at the Brandywell to book their place in the semi-finals of the FAI Ford Cup.

Derry dominated a scrappy first half, but despite winning seven corners to nil, failed to really create a clear-cut chance.

And UCD punished John Robertson's side to score the only goal of the game on 59 minutes.

Man-of-the-match Byrne skinned Killian Brennan down the right to cross and Conor Sammon shot past Patrick Jennings.
