Sven targets Bresciano in January sales
Manchester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson has not abandoned hope of signing Australia international Mark Bresciano.
Eriksson was keen to lure Bresciano to Eastlands before the August transfer deadline.
The midfielder spent a few days in the north west, only to eventually be sent back to Palermo after City failed to agree a payment structure with the Serie A outfit for the proposed £4m fee.
Eriksson has been promised money to spend in January by new owner Thaksin Shinawatra and Bresciano remains on his radar as the Swede looks to turn City into a top-flight force.
“We were always interested in him,” Eriksson told the Manchester Evening News.
“He might be a possibility. But it is too early. Let’s wait for a couple of months then see exactly what we need.”
