Shelbourne's Chief Executive Ollie Byrne has died.

The larger-than-life figure funded Shels' recent successes, including their three titles won over the past four seasons.

Byrne had been battling illness lately, and died at Our Lady's Hospice in Harold's Cross at 4am this morning.
