Connor Sammon put UCD into the quarter-finals of the FAI Ford Cup with a last minute winner today.

A mistake by Dundalk defender David Crawley gifted the ball to Conan Byrne whose cross was turned home by Sammon with 90 minutes up on the watch.

UCD winger Derek Doyle caused Dundalk problems from the start, putting College in front as early as nine minutes when heading home Shane Fitzgerald's cross.

Doyle almost doubled that lead seven minutes later when he rattled the Dundalk bar with a 20-yard drive.

UCD might then have had a penalty just before half-time, but referee Damien Hancock failed to spot a clear handball by Cathal O'Connor.

But Dundalk were better in the second half and Robbie Doyle levelled on 63 minutes.

UCD keeper Darren Quigley could only parry a shot from Philip Hughes and Doyle scooped home the rebound.
