Dramatic late goal seals win for Drogheda

Shane Robinson scored a dramatic last minute winner as Drogheda came from behind to consolidate their leadership of the Premier Division table.

A very committed Bray unsettled Drogheda throughout the first half, earning three bookings inside half an hour.

But they played football as well with Gary Cronin thumping a 30-yard shot off a post before Drogheda defender John Tambouras made a terrific goal-saving tackle on Stephen Fox on 37 minutes.

But there was no reprieve for an out-of-sorts Drogheda on five minutes later as they fell behind to a well-worked goal.

Gay McCabe and Jay O'Shea worked the ball into the Drogheda box from the right, Fox got a touch to help the ball on to Duggan who drilled his shot past Dan Connor from 26 yards.

Drogheda had much more about them from the restart and were level within seven minutes.

A booming left wing cross from Keddy was met by Richie Baker whose acrobatic volley beat Steve Williams for his first - and vitally important - goal for the club.

Robinson, wearing the captain's armband since Stuart Byrne's retirement with injury in the first-half, then struck to win it for Paul Doolin's side on 90.

Gavin Whelan's shot was blocked, but ran kindly for Robinson who shot home.
