Alex set for permit hearing

Chelsea have applied for a work permit for Brazilian star Alex even though he returned home on Sunday without discussing personal terms.

Alex had arrived at Heathrow Airport to open contract negotiations and was cleared to enter the country but after a small delay, he opted to return home voluntarily – scotching suggestions that he had been barred from the UK.
