Aston Villa goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen is resigned to missing the opening Barclays Premier League game with Liverpool on August 11 because of his hamstring injury.

The Denmark international suffered the setback during Villa’s pre-season game with Toronto last Wednesday and limped out of the action in the 35th minute.
