Blades want Beattie

Sheffield United boss Bryan Robson has confirmed he is interested in signing Everton forward James Beattie.

The Blades, preparing for their return to the Coca-Cola Championship, have been linked with the former Southampton player recently.

And according to the club’s website, sufc.co.uk, Robson has confirmed a £4m bid has been made for the 29-year-old striker.

Robson is also interested in Sydney’s Australian midfielder David Carney.
