Blues to include Lordan
Waterford United go head-to-head with Sligo Rovers in tonight’s eircom League of Ireland Premier Division clash at the RSC, kick-off 7.45pm.
The Blues are still smarting from two defeats on the trot and manager Gareth Cronin is anxious to stop this decline.
Cronin will have Cathal Lordan back in the squad after his loan agreement ruled him out of Tuesday’s game against Cork but he is still without Alan Mulcahy and Shane Harte.
"We have been playing some good football but the wheels have come off in the past two games," said Gareth Cronin.
"Since the win over St Pat’s we have lost two on the bounce and we really need to get back on track. The lads have been putting in a lot of work and with the new lads coming in to the squad there is a bedding in period but we have to get past all that and start putting points on the board again.”
Sligo may have to plan without Brian Cash, Matthew Judge and Raf Cretaro who are all carrying knocks.
Manager Paul Cook said: “Every game in this league is difficult but if you have any aspirations for doing well then you have to bounce back quickly and start getting results.
“This is a competitive league and there are no easy games. It is a game we are looking forward to.”
