New signings could feature for Galway

Galway United entertain Cork City in tonight's eircom League of Ireland Premier Division clash at Terryland Park, kick-off 7.45pm.

United will include new signings Mensah Yeboah, Shaun Fagan and Daryl Robson in their squad for the visit of City, while striker Vinny Faherty who signed from Salthill Devon should also be in contention for a debut.

Chris Armstrong and David Cooke will miss out for the Tribesmen, while Stephen O'Flynn, Liam McKenna and John Russell are all doubtful.

For City, Colm Carroll (cruciate knee ligament) remains a long-term absentee, while Brian O’Callaghan (groin) will also miss the game through injury.

Darragh Ryan (abdominal muscle) and Joe Gamble (back) have also been ruled out by Cork boss Damien Richardson, while Seán Kelly (ankle) is a doubt following training.

"After a very good European performance, it is vital that we carry the same level and tempo of performance into the game against Galway," said Richardson.

"The league is the most important competition and therefore is the reference as to how successful a season we’ve had.

"Both myself and my players are determined that the demands placed on us by the huge amounts of travelling we are doing between games will not impinge on our performance levels.

"Galway is one of the best venues in the country and with their new signings they will present a very stiff test for us."
