Waterford clash with league leaders
Waterford United take on league leaders St Patrick's Athletic in tonight's eircom League of Ireland Premier Division clash at the RSC tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.
Blues boss Gareth Cronin is hoping to include his two new signings in the squad, while Alan Mulcahy is a doubt as he is troubled by a groin strain.
Willie John Kiely, who returns to Waterford having been at Aberdeen is still awaiting his international clearance from the Scottish FA while Cork City’s loan player, Cathal Lordan, is expected to be in the squad.
"I am very pleased that Willie John has decided to come to the Blues," said Cronin.
"It’s great to get a local boy back to the club and he comes from Aberdeen with a great scoring record so we are hoping for some more of the same.
"Cathal (Lordan) is a great addition to the midfield and I have no doubt that he can slot in alongside the existing players quickly.
"I think the lads have been unlucky in their recent games against Bohs and Bray.
"We deserved more from these matches but I think the lads learned some valuable lessons from these games. We have to maintain our focus for ninety minutes and we also have to put away our chances as they can be scarce."
The Saints will be hoping to maintain their lead at the top of the table with an away win and new signing Dave Rogers should go straight into the team.
Billy Gibson and Michael Keane are included in the squad, while Alan Kirby and John Frost return from suspension.
