The Candystripes defeated Cobh Ramblers 2-1 at St Colman's in front of incoming manager John Robertson, who is set to be officially unveiled later today.

Shamrock Rovers, meanwhile, beat Athlone Town 1-0, while Bohemians needed extra-time to beat Cork City.

The two sides were drawn 2-2 after 90 minutes and the game looked to be heading for penalties when Des Byrne headed a winner for the Dubliners with just three minutes left to play.
