Rovers snap up three new signings
Shamrock Rovers have confirmed the signing of three new players to coincide with the reopening of the transfer window.
Midfielders John Martin from Longford Town, Bray Wanderers’ David Tyrrell and Ross Moran from Cherry Orchard have joined Pat Scully’s squad.
Striker Padraig Amond and goalkeeper John McGuiness have been recalled from their loan spells at Kildare County and Kilkenny City respectively.
"John and David are both experienced players who will add a lot to our squad," said Scully.
"Ross is coming from Cherry Orchard and he's a great prospect with an exciting future.
“Several other clubs were trying to sign him, but the fact that he chose Shamrock Rovers above everyone else says a lot about him and what this club can offer players."
Meanwhile, Ian Ryan and Jamie Duffy have both gone out on loan to Longford Town for the rest of the season, while Tommy Barrett has been released.
"Ian and Jamie have gone on loan to Longford as part of the deal that brings John Martin to Rovers," Scully explained.
"Tommy was released by mutual consent. The travelling to and from Limerick took its toll. He's a lovely lad, he did a really good job for us, but in fairness it was very difficult for him and we wish him well."
