Henry set for Barca unveiling

Thierry Henry was this afternoon waiting to be unveiled as a Barcelona player after passing his medical at the Nou Camp.

Sources at the Spanish club have confirmed the France striker has agreed a four-year contract in a deal worth £16.15m to Arsenal.

Barca’s medical team spent the day putting the 29-year-old forward through his paces at a Barcelona hospital.

And team doctor Ricard Pruna confirmed to PA Sport that he had successfully passed the tests.

Henry was due to be formally presented to the press at 5pm Irish time, where he was expected to sign his contract in front of TV cameras.

He leaves the Gunners as the club’s record goalscorer after netting 226 goals coming in 364 appearances.

Henry’s arrival at the Nou Camp would give Barca coach Frank Rijkaard a wealth of attacking options next season, with the likes of Samuel Eto’o, Ronaldinho, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Lionel Messi already on the books.
