Zanetti would welcome Tevez signing

Javier Zanetti wants West Ham striker Carlos Tevez to join him at Inter Milan next season.

The Nerazzurri captain believes Argentinian compatriot Tevez would be the ideal signing for the Italian champions.

The 23-year-old, who joined the Hammers last summer and went on to play a key role in keeping them in the Premiership, has been linked with a move to the San Siro this summer.

Zanetti said: “It would be a great signing for us because he is a player that never gives up.

“He would be ideal for Inter, he has great talent and we really hope he will join us.”

Tevez, who is reportedly being tracked by Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid, is currently with his national team preparing for the Copa America.

Having failed to acquire Honduras forward David Suazo from Cagliari – with the player set to join arch rivals AC Milan – Tevez has become Inter’s top summer target.
