UEFA president Michel Platini has denied Liverpool fans are the worst-behaved in Europe while his organisation's spokesman William Gaillard has been called a "clown" by the Anfield club's co-owner Tom Hicks.

Gaillard, who enraged Liverpool earlier in the week by referring to a dossier of 25 incidents involving the club's fans at European matches, has also been called on to resign by a Liverpool fans group official.
