Muntaro signs for Pompey
Portsmouth have completed the signing of Ghana international midfielder Sulley Muntari from Udinese.
The 22-year-old has joined on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Meanwhile former Portsmouth manager Alain Perrin has been named as the new manager of French champions Lyon.
Perrin was sacked by Pompey in November 2005 after winning just four of 20 matches in the Barclays Premiership and has since been coaching French side Sochaux.
The 50-year-old takes over from former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier, who resigned after steering Lyon to a sixth successive Ligue 1 title.
Perrin – who earned the nickname “Reggie” at Pompey – joined the south coast club in April 2005 and took them clear of relegation.
But he won only two more games in the 2005-06 campaign before making way for the return of Harry Redknapp from Southampton.
