Irish Football Association president Jim Boyce claims “substantial progress” has been made in the search for Lawrie Sanchez’s successor as national team boss.

Sanchez recently stepped down from his role to take the reigns at Fulham in a full-time capacity, leaving Northern Ireland in a position of strength in the European Championship qualifiers but with a major headache in terms of finding a replacement.
