Staunton inspired by Charlton era

Steve Staunton believes he is close to recreating the heady days of the Jack Charlton era within his Republic of Ireland squad.

Charlton, who awarded Staunton the first of his Irish record 102 caps, was renowned for the high morale and team spirit he created within his squads.
