Whelan wants resignations over Tevez affair

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has called on Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore and chairman Dave Richards to resign after claiming they were guilty of a “dereliction of duties” over the Carlos Tevez affair.

In a letter to the pair, the Latics chief questioned the decision not to follow the recommendation of the independent commission chairman and cancel Tevez’ registration and instead allowed the Argentinian to play in West Ham’s vital 3-0 win over Wigan.
