Warnock keeping Jagielka in mind

Sheffield United Boss Neil Warnock looks set to ease the pressure on new England B call-up Phil Jagielka by naming a substitute goalkeeper for his side’s relegation decider with Wigan.

Sheffield United Boss Neil Warnock looks set to ease the pressure on new England B call-up Phil Jagielka by naming a substitute goalkeeper for his side’s relegation decider with Wigan.

Jagielka has been used by Warnock as an emergency stopper in the past – most famously keeping Arsenal at bay earlier in the season – but the utility man will not be forced to wear the gloves against the Latics.

Ian Bennett is the man expected to take a place on the bench as back-up for first-choice Paddy Kenny. Meanwhile Nick Montgomery, who was taken off against Aston Villa with a shoulder injury, is Warnock’s only major fitness worry.

Team (from): Kenny, Bromby, Morgan, Jagielka, Shelton, Stead, Webber, A Quinn, Kozluk, Kilgallon, Montgomery, Tonge, Gillespie, Armstrong, Leigertwood, Lucketti, Fathi, Geary, Nade, S Quinn, Kazim-Richards, Bennett.
