AZ Alkmaar saw a trophy snatched from their grasp for the second time in a week after 10-man Ajax won a nailbiting Dutch Cup final on penalties.

Seven days after their final-day league defeat to Excelsior handed the Eredivisie title to PSV Eindhoven, AZ suffered further heartache after Ryan Donk’s miss from the spot gave Ajax victory.
