Galway United v Derry City team news

Derry City face Galway United at Terryland Park tonight with both sides desperate for a win to kick-start their respective seasons, kick-off 7,45pm.

Galway could be without top scorer Alan Murphy who has not trained all week after picking up a calf-muscle injury against Bray.

Tony Cousins must also wait on Ciaran Foley (hamstring) and John Russell (thigh strain) as they are both struggling to be fit for tonight’s game.

Chris Armstrong and Alan Keane remain out for the foreseeable future.

“Alan has put in a huge amount of effort and he really deserves to be back playing again, but he has had a setback and the club is doing their best to make sure that the best of medical advice is available to him,” said Cousins.

City are missing Kevin Deery, Alan Moore and Gary Beckett but should still bring a strong squad to Galway tonight.
