Rovers aiming to halt Saints' unbeaten run

Shamrock Rovers will be hoping to end St Patrick’s Athletic’s unbeaten start to the season as they travel to Richmond Park tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).

Stephen Paisley should return to the Saints starting line-up, although Joseph Ndo and Anto Murphy are doubtful.

Paul Shiels and skipper Aidan Price are still out injured for Rovers and Eric McGill is also ruled out.

Tadhg Purcell, Ger Rowe and Danny O’Connor are all carrying knocks but should be fit to play in tonight’s Dublin derby.

“Eric’s got a groin problem that’s going to keep him out for 6-7 weeks,” said Hoops boss, Pat Scully.

“Aidan Price is still out, while Paul Shiels is probably facing an operation. “He has an abdominal problem that just isn’t clearing up and I can’t see him being available for another 8-10 weeks.

“Tadhg, Ger and Danny are all 50-50 for the Pats’ game.

“We’ve had a run of injuries since the start of the season. I don’t like making excuses but we’ve been very unlucky. But we also expect people to be able to come in and do a job.”
