Ameobi trains sights on Magpies return

Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi has told manager Glenn Roeder he is ready for a Premiership return at Reading on Monday.

The 25-year-old played for another 70 minutes in the reserves’ 3-1 defeat at Bolton last night as he stepped up his recovery from hip surgery.
