Derry City to take part in Champions League

Derry City will represent Ireland in next season's Champions League, it was announced today.

The move follows the withdrawal of Shelbourne from the competition.

The FAI's decision means St Patrick's Athletic and Drogheda United will participate in the UEFA Cup and Cork City in the Inter Toto Cup.

UCD will also take part in the UEFA Cup should Ireland be awarded a place via the Fair Play competition.
