St Pat's put three past Portadown

Despite a host of changes and with nothing to play for, St. Patrick's maintained their unbeaten start to the season at Stangmore Park with another facile win in the Setanta Sports Cup thanks to a brace of goals from winger Sean O'Connor.

In a game of few chances, Saints finally took the lead when striker Eamon Lynch fired home on 52 minutes.

O'Connor added a second ten minutes later to end the game as a contest.

Bottom of the table Portadown's campaign was just about summed up on 70 minutes when Marc McCann's penalty was saved by Brendan Clarke.

Saints then went straight down the other end from the restart with O'Connor scoring his second of the night to complete the rout.
